We’re especially concerned with business safety, which is why we’ve been working hard these past few months to bring new products, and to deliver an industry first. Here’s a quick recap of the fruits of our labour over the past few months…
CSI Safeguard: Reduce Your Hiring Risk

Closer to the end of last year we launched CSI Safeguard. It’s a comprehensive pre-employment screening package that provides quick and easy screening of job candidates to better protect employers.
In addition to ID verification and consumer trace, CSI Safeguard also provides a criminal record check of the employee, and a pre-employment polygraph test. The latter is relatively uncommon in pre-employment packages, but is absolutely necessary since it can provide a deeper insight into the lives of prospective employees:
- “Have you ever stolen from a previous employer”
- “Have you lied about anything during your interview?”
- “Do you frequently use illegal substances?”
- “Have you ever been terminated for unethical behaviour?”
…just a few important questions that deserve honest answers.
B-Verfied: An Industry First
We followed up with B-Verfied, which is an industry first: now businesses can verify the identities of employees and clients directly with the Department of Home Affairs – similar to the ID verification systems which have recently appeared in South African banks.
Aside from real time 100% accurate ID verification, B-Verified also delivers another great benefit:
it’s virtually tamperproof.

Where in-house employee databases may be subject to tampering from within or by hackers, B-Verified minimises the potential ID fraud because of the direct Department of Home Affairs connection.
The features of B-Verfied are also pretty impressive:
- Facial portrait linking with captured fingerprints and ID data
- Auto-population of Name and Surname based on verified ID
- FBI / Interpol / SAPS compliant WSQ fingerprint images stored
- Offline capability – standalone system

Coming Soon: The CSI Lab
Ever wondered who drank out that bottle of very expensive wine? Receiving strange letters in the post from someone you suspect might have ulterior motives?
CSI Africa provides a fingerprint processing service to private individuals, private investigators, and legal teams. This service has been designed to facilitate investigations which do not fall within the scope of services or resources provided by the South African Police Department.
In the near future we’ll be launching a comprehensive training course where you can learn how to package items in need of processing to maintain the integrity of the fingerprints, as well as the accompanying protocol to ensure everything is done according to the letter of the law. Attendees will also receive the necessary material and documentation needed to ensure the legitimacy of their cases.
Pretty exciting stuff, right? We’ll be keeping you posted, so be sure to keep an ear to the ground.
